About Huss & Dalton
Huss & Dalton Guitar Company has built acoustic guitars in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia since 1995, when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton founded the shop. The catalog runs from steel-string flat-tops through a smaller line of electric guitars, with a longstanding focus on the pre-war American flat-top tradition — the Crossroads, the T-OO, and the TD series among the recognizable builds. Brian Dickel, a long-time member of the team, took over ownership in 2021, and the shop continues building under the same craftsmanship principles.
About Action Music
Action Music is a Falls Church, Virginia independent founded in 1997 by Matt Baker, built around an on-site repair bench staffed by working musicians. Baker came to the trade through Bryan Galloup's Guitar Hospital in Big Rapids, Michigan — one of the country's serious repair-certification programs — and through years touring as guitar tech for national acts. His partner Mike Dutton, an Alexandria native, anchors the playing side, with a long resume backing regional and touring blues artists and current work in the Rogue Johnsen Project and The Snake Farmers. The shop reflects both perspectives — a broad floor of electric guitars, amps, and effects for gigging players alongside a thoughtful boutique-acoustic shelf anchored on Huss & Dalton and Collings. As the only Atlas dealer in the immediate DC metro, they're the natural in-person stop for Virginia, Maryland, and DC area players.
